CNC Machined Hydraulic & Pneumatic Manifolds

Manifolds route fluid or air between ports through a network of intersecting drilled passages inside a solid block. The hard part isn't the outside — it's clean, deburred, leak-free cross-drilled internals. We machine and pressure-verify aluminum and steel manifolds.

What is a CNC machined manifolds?

A manifold is a machined block that distributes hydraulic fluid or compressed air between multiple ports and valves through internal drilled passages. The design challenge is the intersecting cross-holes: they must meet accurately, be free of burrs that could break loose and damage valves, and seal at the port faces. Machined manifolds replace networks of tubes and fittings, reducing leak points and weight.

Common materials

Aluminum 6061-T6

The standard for pneumatic and low-to-medium pressure hydraulic manifolds — light and easy to machine.

Ductile / carbon steel

For high-pressure hydraulic manifolds where aluminum's pressure rating is insufficient.

Stainless Steel 316L

For corrosive media, marine, or food-grade fluid applications.

Typical tolerance

±0.05 mm

Port threads and sealing faces are the critical features; cross-drilled passage intersections are positioned accurately and deburred to prevent contamination.

How we machine them

3-axis milling & drilling

Machines the block, port faces, mounting holes, and the drilled flow passages.

Deep-hole drilling

For long internal passages that connect distant ports.

Deburring & flushing

Internal passages are deburred and flushed clean — critical for valve reliability.

Design tips that lower cost

Minimize the number of cross-drilled intersections

Every internal intersection is a deburring and contamination risk. Routing passages to reduce intersections improves cleanliness and lowers cost.

Use standard port threads

Specify standard port forms (BSPP, NPT, SAE/ORB) so we use stock thread tooling and the manifold mates to off-the-shelf fittings and valves.

Allow access for deburring drilled passages

An internal passage that no tool can reach to deburr is a reliability hazard. Design plug-able access ports so intersections can be cleaned, then sealed with threaded plugs.

Specify a pressure / leak test

Tell us the test pressure and medium. We pressure-test manifolds before shipping so leaks are caught here, not in your assembly.

Manifolds — frequently asked

Do you leak-test machined manifolds?

Yes. We pressure-test to your specified pressure and medium (air or hydraulic) and can provide the test record with the shipment.

How do you remove burrs from internal cross-holes?

We use mechanical deburring tools through access ports, abrasive flow where needed, and a final flush. Internal burrs are the leading cause of manifold/valve failure, so this step is standard on every manifold.

What's the maximum pressure rating you can machine for?

It depends on material and wall thickness — aluminum suits pneumatic and medium-pressure hydraulics; for high-pressure hydraulics we use steel. Share your working and burst pressure and we'll confirm the material and walls.
